Mark Morrison – “N.A.N.G.” (Single Review/Video Trailer)

In the lead-up to original “Return of the Mack” singer Mark Morrison salivatingly anticipated third (yes, THIRD!) album, I Am What I Am, almost an entire album’s worth of multiple unauthorized song leaks have hit the Interweb. So with I Am What I Am’s actually release now confirmed for late 2012, he’s staying ahead of the game and leaking the album’s first official single “N.A.N.G.”.

“N.A.N.G.” started showing up online a couple months ago, it’s now aligned with an official visual (view trailer here). I can understand why Mark couldn’t wait till to share this killer joint with his fans. Because it’s awesome. The track content follows an abusive relationship, with cleverly constructed visuals to where Morrison plays a cop, pleading to a girl to leave her woman-beating man. Those who were mildly underwhelmed by the more chilled-out vibe of his sleeper single “Innocent Man” will adore this, because it’s classic Mark Morrison: Mack-powered vocals, remix-ready R&B/disco beats, and just enough eat-my-dust angst. Full support for one of the UK’s greatest talents!!

Can we finally say Return of the Mack? R&B music has missed you since you’ve been gone. Welcome back!
