Brooklyn rapper, host and social media star Nems announces the release of his new album, America’s Sweetheart, out today – Listen Here. The 13-track project showcases his gritty lyricism and charismatic storytelling, paired with his signature humor and wit, further reinforcing his title as the “Mayor of Coney Island.” The album features standout production from Scram Jones, Cartune Beatz, and Strew-B along with guest appearances from Millyz, D-Stroy, Leaky Bandz, Tony Touch and Dios Moreno.
Nems skyrocketed on social media with his signature phrases, “Bing Bong” and “Don’t Ever Disrespect Me,” amassing over 1.5 Billion Views on TikTok, 1.5 million followers across platforms, and more than 40 million views on YouTube.
Later today, Complex will premiere its new special Nems In Ya Ear on their YouTube channel at 2pm ET. Nems also hosts Disrespect Radio, a weekly show on SiriusXM’s Shade 45. In 2024, he went on a Monster Energy 30+ city tour across North America, hosted the “You Aughts To Know” series with Complex, partnered with Capital One for “Gorilla Fest” at SummerStage and hosted a Revolt series called The Crew League.
The album has already delivered two standout singles, “Go Fat Boy” and “My Side” featuring Millyz, both gaining strong momentum. The “Go Fat Boy” music video, which has surpassed 500K views on YouTube, features Nems comically balling on the basketball court and training in the gym before switching to a raw freestyle to close out the visual. The “My Side” music video, already over 100K views, follows Nems and guest artist Millyz cruising through his hometown Coney Island in exotic cars. Up next, a music video for “Light The Room” is set to drop in the coming weeks.
To celebrate the album, Nems is launching an exclusive line of merchandise from his globally recognized brand, FYL (F**k Your Life). Known for its bold, unapologetic designs and gritty New York attitude, FYL frequently drops exclusive, limited-edition collections that sell out quickly, offering a range of merchandise—including hoodies, T-shirts, hats, and accessories—often featuring Nems’ signature Gorilla “G” logo, Bing Bong, FYL, and Don’t Ever Disrespect Me. Fans can purchase the merchandise collection at his store in Coney Island or online at FYL.nyc. Additionally, a limited-edition album vinyl and a deluxe edition with bonus tracks will be available on February 14.
Nems has built a self-made career through authenticity. “I’ve never had to go out of character,” he touts. In 2021, the Brooklyn MC with a respected catalog, decorated battle history, and worldwide FYL merchandise brand created a new wave of attention through trademarking “Bing Bong.” The New York Knicks used his catchphrase, and Nems’ voice appeared over a billion times on TikTok. He rapidly cultivated a new fanbase that discovered Nems had made great music and videos for years.
In a catalog that includes standout releases like “CONGO”, and “Don’t Ever Disrespect Me” Feat. Ghostface Killah, Nems delivered a skillful and revealing album with 2023’s “RISE OF THE SILVERBACK” produced by Grammy nominated producer, Scram Jones. With the recent LP, the unofficial mayor of Coney Island has expanded into stand-up comedy, hosting seasons of REVOLT’s The Crew League, and tripled his social following. His FYL merch brand has global sales and has grossed in the millions.
“There are great rappers that suck because they can’t structure a song or relate to people. I’ve survived situations just to let people know that you can make it out; I’m the proof… I’m always gonna win, no matter what.”
