Olskool Ice-Gre and E.P. Da Hellcat, also known as the Chicago Hip-Hop duo Abstract Mindstate, are set to join Slum Village on the road in Europe next week. The Front 2 Back Tour, which kicks off in London on Monday (6/9), will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the evolved Detroit group’s seminal Hip-Hop classic Fantastic Vol. 2. That album’s far-reaching influence can be heard on “The Get Down”, a funky new groove that finds the Midwestern compatriots joining forces on wax. Released on all major digital streaming platforms today (6/6/2025), the new single is (befittingly) about “giving crowds more than what they bargained for– a money-back guarantee of sorts”, according to Olskool Ice Gree.

The new single’s lyric video, released this morning, includes behind the scenes footage of Abstract Mindstate’s 2024 experience on the road with Slum Village for the FUN Since 92 Tour. Watch it on YouTube here.
“The Get Down” is the second single from Abstract Mindstate’s forthcoming album The Art Project, produced entirely by Slum Village’s Young RJ. Due out on June 27 via Honest Music/Barak With Love/Vydia, the new album is a result of the undeniable chemistry established between Slum Village and Abstract Mindstate while the two groups toured the Pacific Northwest and Europe together in 2022 and 2024, respectively. The album will also serve as the duo’s full-length follow-up to their 2021 Kanye West-produced album Dreams Still Inspire.

Abstract Mindstate is also set to release Still Paying…An Abstract European Experience, a short film documenting their first tour with Slum Village in 2024. Watch the trailer here.
