Lil Wayne “The Carter VI” Review

Good as album. I closed my eyes and just listened. Production is really good on this album. No, it’s probably not what you expect but honestly, what do you expect? We want a classic like Killer Mike, Pusha T, Jay z dropped but I think we gotta understand something, classics come from experiences and struggle. Wayne been rich since before he was a teenager. Nicca been rich for 30 years! He been fucking bitches for 30 years. He been smoking weed for 30 years. He don’t have life stories other than him shooting himself…All he know is the shit he rap about and he raps about the shit very well. Nicca is closer to Michael Jackson than he is to Jay z as far as experiences and being sheltered by money.

Saying all of that, it’s a very cultured album. It’s a polished album. Even his sons sound good on the album. Nicca had Lin-Manuel Miranda produce on this shit. He had Bono on this shit. DJ Clue produced on this. Nicca had Andrea Bocelli on this shit. Jelly Roll was on this shit. It’s crazy. And he produced multiple songs on this shit. Think about the genre bending. He had country rap, classical, hip-hop, rap, rock, alternative rock, metal. He slid on the shit too! The album will age very well.
