Pop Da Brown Hornet Interview

Check out our exclusive interview with Pop Da Brown Hornet.

All right, we’re here with Pop Da Brown Hornet. How’s it going, man?

What’s going on, Pop Da Brown Hornet in the building? What’s going on?

Can’t complain, can’t complain. You just recently dropped your new single and video for Soldier. Tell me a little bit about the single and how it came together for you.

Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, it was produced by Mike Diesel.

And actually, I got the beat from his conrad, my brother Ken Miles. Actually, Ken Miles had gave me the beat. We supposed to do a little duet to it.

I want him getting the beat right in two verses. And that’s the kind of history I got in contact with Mike, and he put it together as far as mixing and mastering. And then I put it out.

It came to me with the concept. The song was already titled, so I just wrote my line over the concept of a soldier. And this came with the format.

I’m a soldier for the higher power.

Good, absolutely. And will this be on an upcoming mixtape or EP or a full-length project? Just what’s up next for you?

I mean, it has a possibility. I will be working on an album, so hypothetically, it could be a bonus track. Say, if the album drops early next year, I might drop another single before the year is out.

And then, you know, have a full album come next year.

Okay. And do you have any schedule for any upcoming more videos, or visuals, or anything else, as far as on the video tip, drop it next for you as well?

Yeah. Well, I’m going to do my best to put a song together during the holidays, maybe Thanksgiving, you know, before everything shuts down. I plan on putting something together just to keep the momentum flowing, maybe a little more party-orientated track, just to ride out the new year.

Okay. All right. We’re now about halfway through September, nine months into 2025.

Just what’s your thoughts on hip hop in 2025, and maybe some of your favorite singles or albums have dropped so far this year that you’re checking out what you’re listening to on your playlist?

I’m going to be honest with you, the kind of hip hop, the state of hip hop, if they’re not really the main characters, I would say is I have to be a little conscious. So I would listen, besides my New York go to, maybe the Locks and the things of that nature, the Kendricks and the Cole’s, I would get a little play when I’m on serious radio, but I do vibe a lot of hip hop music of my own. I do rock a lot of my peers’ music, some of my old hip hop.

So I’m an old hip hop classichead on R&D. I do listen to the latest Afro beats. You know, they keep me, more or less, I think, inspired to create new music on my own hip hop to be original.

So I like the Afro beat wave that came through. But for the most part, I listen to the classic hip hop myself. And that’s about it.

Okay. Absolutely. All right.

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates or anything you want to let people know about?

All of those are in the wings. I don’t have anything that I know right off the top. I’m coming off of ankle surgery, so I really wasn’t pushing any too many public appearances.

But if something comes about, you know, I’m getting better now. I’m like six, I’m like four weeks into, after the surgery, I had ankle surgery. So I’m healing up, getting on my feet, and hopefully, you know, this fall, this winter, I have some activity.

Okay. What’s your website information for people looking to check out your music and see what you got going on, social media and everything?

Oh, yeah, my social media, if you want to catch me on TikTok, it’s Pop Brown Hornet. Facebook is Pop Brown Hornet. If you’re on Instagram, it’s PopDaBrownHornet.

Underscore10304. So that’s what you can do right now. That’s the act of media that I have right now.

Okay. All right. Well, that’s all the questions I have for you.

Appreciate you getting down for your interviews. Are there any last words or shout outs you want to gather to the people?

I just want to shout out the universe, and hopefully you’ll embrace the new single, Soldier. And that’s about it. Shout out to all the hip hop heads out there.
