NEW YORK RAPPER ANDRE LAWRENCE RELEASES
NEW ALBUM CORDUROY – LISTEN HERE
November 11, 2025 – Today, Pass The Butterartist, Andre Lawrence releases his latest album, Corduroy, executive produced by Zuko — a project that reveals another side of himself as he navigates growing pains, conflict, anxiety, and the pressures of forging his own path. “By touching on my own ambitions and insecurities while growing up in New York, I illustrate the neuroses involved with being 21 and having a turbulent relationship with everything” Andre shares. A follow-up to his 2024 project, sorry mom, I know my grades suck but this is gonna work…, this project offers a sharp, self-aware look at what it means to find your footing in the real world. “I think the coming-of-age album is becoming a little cliché. This album is more like a case study on the chaotic ups and downs of young adulthood.”  Listen to CorduroyHERE.
While spending his days skateboarding around Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Andre found a new outlet after breaking his arm: music. “What I love about skating is you have to mess up a trick 100 times before you land it. There’s no way around it, you have to be okay with being shitty at first,” he explains. Andre applies that same tenacity to his music, dedicating himself fully to perfecting his craft. His verses blend introspective storytelling and raw, unfiltered expression, influenced by rap icons Tyler, the Creator, Big L, and Jay-Z, as well as musical inspirations like Stevie Wonder and Dominic Fike. Corduroy blends soulful production, introspective lyrics, upbeat moments, and softer, vulnerable passages, reflecting the emotional rollercoaster of Lawrence’s journey, from uncertainty and self-doubt to newfound confidence.
The album opens with Act I, capturing Lawrence in New York, determined to make it, even as he wrestles with conflicts. “I wouldn’t trade my life for anything else,” he reflects, setting the tone for a chapter that’s both thrilling and tinged with sorrow. The act begins with “Plan for One,” which arrives today alongside its official video (available at 1pm EST). Directed by Dylan Esko, the visual brings Lawrence’s vulnerable journey to life, balancing ambition and isolation with introspection.

Act II sees him building confidence and momentum, yet struggling to stay grounded, a tension evident on tracks like “Carcinogens” and “Pardon, I Did It Again.” By the final act, he refocuses on what matters: rebuilding good habits, reconnecting with loved ones, and ultimately leaving New York behind. On “Today Was a Hard One,” he escapes to the mountains, constantly looking over his shoulder before finding solitude in a house by the river. It’s a moment of personal growth he’s finally ready to embrace.
