November 21, 2025 – Today, Texas rap world-builder Yakiyn unlocks a new level in his steady rise with “CALCULATE,”a chaotically booming cut produced by BNYX®️ (Lil Yachty, Travis Scott, Yeat) and Trey Kams (Pink Siifu, Kal Banx). Far from your typical get-money anthem, the futuristic-sounding single finds the Dallas-based artist eyeing opportunities with the precision of a computer-powered missile guidance system. Listen HERE and watch the music video HERE.

“CALCULATE” opens on a bass-powered glitch storm where squelching synths clash with snapping drums and panning adlibs. Yakiyn channels his signature infectious energy into a relentless flow as he identifies “upgrades” within his reach: “I’m getting the money, I prayed / I walk in the bank and say thanks […] Did you make money today? / And how many risks did it take? / Put the crib by the ocean or lake? […] Calculate, calculate, calculate!” The song then swerves into a dreamy space — implying that “Lonestar Yak” achieved that 2.0 status.

The new release hits just as Yakiyn raps up a series of dates supporting Lexa Gates’ I Am Tour following his late October appearance at Atlanta’s ONE Musicfest. His previous single, the swaggering “SPREAD LIKE BUTTA,” also continues to build steam, with cosigns coming from VIBE, Complex (“Yakiyn came out swinging”), and SZA herself. Yakiyn also brought the stylish cut to From the Block for a performance clip that oozes with charisma — watch HERE.

DIY to his core, Yakiyn also recently shared dark dance-rap track “FEEL SO ALIVE” featuring FELIX! (of Van Buren Records) direct to his fans, picking up a SoundCloud Track of the Day nod. Before that was September’s hypnotic flex-fest of an official single “PUT DEM BOYS TO SLEEP,” which came with a striking video co-directed by Yakiyn with Cordell Jomha (Don Toliver, Doechii) and featuring a cameo from a dancing Leon Bridges, among others. That clip ends with a snippet of yet another recent SoundCloud-exclusive heater, “TOP TIER.”

All of that came in the wake of Yakiyn’s explosive summer single “BACKBOARD” featuring Kal Banx, best known as TDE’s hit-making in-house producer (Yakiyn also appears on Kal’s solo album RHODA). That track’s intensity and shout-along hook inspired Dallas Observer to call the song “something you would hear in between NBA commercial breaks after a monstrous dunk.” Meanwhile, Our Generation Music noted, “Yakiyn shows why he’s an up-and-comer to watch.”

It’s all part of a flurry of activity around the emerging artist who, in the past year, has toured with style-shifting hip-hop auteur Isaiah Rashad and appeared in Doechii’s Denial Is a River sitcom skits alongside Earl Sweatshirt, Teezo Touchdown, and Zack Fox. In 2024, Yakiyn also released his SAD BOI EP, showing staggering range across just four tracks including “YEA” featuring Rashad and Luke Bar$, which recently surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify. With a distinctive fashion sense, he’s also been tapped to model in campaigns for TDE and Yeezy.

All of this is just the start, however. Follow along as Yakiyn unveils his holistic vision bit by bit.
