It took Jamal Gasol three years to complete Get Me 2 Heaven. The Niagara Falls native called upon Griselda affiliate Denny Laflare to handle all but one track and fellow upstate artists Jynx 716 and Flames Dot Malik add to the proceedings as well.
Get Me 2 Heaven is a manifestation. It’s also a byproduct of growing up in an environment where poverty, drugs and violence are rampant, and prayer is used as a tool to cope and hope for better days. Not to mention, we’re also living in a very unsettled, dangerous and turbulent world.
Heaven equates too many things for people, and Jamal explores many of those ideologies topically with Get Me 2 Heaven.
