February 20, 2025 – Today, rising artist Lexa Gates releases the mesmerizing video for her track “What You Wish For.” Directed by Olivia De Camps (Tokischa, Rebecca Black, Reul) the fashion-forward visual plunges Lexa into an uncanny alternate reality. As she waits for an appointment, surrounded by restless onlookers, the ticking clock grows louder, each second stretching into something more sinister until her name is finally called. From cryptic tests to fleeting glimpses of other patients in whimsical, dreamlike moments, the lyrics “careful what you wish for now” come to life as the unsettling visuals unfold. Watch “What You Wish For” HERE.
“What You Wish For” is featured on Elite Vessel, Lexa Gates’ critically acclaimed label debut released last fall. This deeply personal 12-track album from the 23-year-old Latinx artist takes listeners on an emotional journey, exploring themes of self-discovery, resilience, and ambition. Featuring collaborations with Alé Araya, Zelooperz, and Billy Lemos, the project made an immediate impact, debuting on both the Billboard Heatseekers chart and the Current R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. Elite Vessel also earned praise from major outlets such as Billboard, HighSnobiety, Rolling Stone, The FADER, KCRW, and more. One of the standout moments in the album’s release was Lexa’s powerful art installation, where she spent 10 hours in a transparent box in New York City, exploring her deep connection to both her music and listeners. To date, the installation has garnered over 300 million views across various platforms. In addition, she released the video for “Alone,” bringing the installation to life alongside Lexa’s ethereal vocals on the self-produced track.
