You just recently dropped your new single entitled Fade To Black featuring Romero from Clika One, classic Vegas group here. Tell me a little bit about the single and how it came together for you.

I’ve been friends with Romeo for a long time. I wanna say Brian Staks of Sol Camp kind of started the relationship with Sol Camp and Clika one.Then we did a few tracks together too. We got a video called “Hustlin Champions” we shot in 2013, that has like 120k views. Fast forward to 2024 When I came back to music. My goal was to work with some of my music homies that I think are the best mcees that I know. It took a while because Romero is a hard guy to get a hold of lol Once he came to the studio, we knocked out a bunch of tracks. This Track is a song about coming back to this music thing until we fade to Black. On this track I got Lex West on guitar and we got Beatie beatz producing it. Beatie beatz is the main producer on this album so I feel like his production dictated the vibe on this project.

Do you guys have an album in the works?

We knocked out 13 songs in a few sessions and that’s gonna be the album. We just finished mastering it and just getting everything ready. It’s got a lot of dope topics and styles. It’s also one of the best mixed and mastered projects I’ve ever done. Shout out to Bag of tricks cat and Adrian Mancilla . The album is gonna be called “Mav n Romero 2 dope RapPerros” album drops in September stay tuned!

You yourself have been flooding the streets all year with new music. What’s up next for you solo wise?

I been working hard on my comeback. I wanted to go harder than ever and make the best music I ever made. I got some singles I’m promoting like “Big Mav” “AZ to Chi Town ft Do or die” and “100 rounds ft Willy Northpole”. The plan is to drop my solo album 4th quarter so we’re wrapping up that project also . I just dropped a 4 track EP called “The Puprle Ep” with French producer A Little Rooster in June. The title track is “Painting Purple Skies” It’s 4 tracks of dope lyrics and amazing underground hip hop beats.

What’s coming up for Sol Camp?

We came back together in 2024 and dropped two singles and videos for our songs “La Parusia” and “Ryan Garcia”. This year we are dropping the videos for our singles “Welcome” and “Crewsin”. The full album is coming soon too. Probably end of this year or early next year. We got our upcoming single with multi platinum Arizona producer Lifted coming in 2026 so stay tuned! Sol camp is coming together for one last album but we’re gonna go all out with it and shoot a video to every song. Skunk one is putting it all together from Recording us, Our artwork, mixing, and our upcoming videos. Shout out to the whole squad Skunk one, Chino D, Brian Staks, Dj Villin, and Sal.

Do you have any more upcoming videos or singles?

Yeah the Mav n Romero album next single will be “Mr Internet”. The next Sol camp single will be “Crewsin”. I got videos already being edited for “Champions” “Painting Purple Skies” “No Streets is exempt” and “Proud of me” and also Sol Camp “Welcome” . All those songs are available on my Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere you get music online.

What are your current thoughts on the music industry, especially in Arizona?

My favorite things in the music industry this year is the OGs coming back and dominating. I’ll go down the list of my favorite comebacks. We got Do or Die, Chance the Rapper, The Clipse, Slick Rick, Raekwon, and there’s more too.

I wanna say Arizona is super underrated. I mean, we got a lot of talent and every generation I see new rappers that could possibly do big things in the industry. Until we have a huge breakout star we will be slept on. We have a great musical community though we got everything a music fan needs to be honest. Just need more support from the world. I try to support everyone who I think is dope from Arizona on my page @phxazrap on instagram.

What is currently playing on your playlist musically? Besides all my music?

Past few weeks I been listening to that New Chance the rapper album, that new Mexican OT album, Old Tupac (Rip Young Noble), Clipse, Rae, that new Ghostface, Big X the Plug, Young Dolph, Bob Marley and more.

Do you have any shows or tour dates?

My next show I’ll be performing and hosting at is Oct 10th downtown Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 at Tap that downtown. It’s gonna be a beat battle, mcee battle, and live performances. The Diss/Respect showcase vol 3.
