Vevo, the world’s leading music video network, announces Rob49 as the next artist in their ctrl series with a performance of “WTHELLY,” from his acclaimed album, Let Me Fly. “WTHELLY” follows Rob49’s previously released ctrl performances of “Strippers Lives Matter” and “BLOUSIN.” Rolling Stone called Let Me Fly “a project where fans get the Rob49 they know and love.”

Vevo’s Ctrl series highlights the work of hard-hitting, cutting-edge musicians making an impact in today’s music scene – both emerging and established. These artists demand attention, and Vevo’s Ctrl shines a deserving spotlight. Rob49’s performance follows sessions from Killer Mike, Latto, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Pusha T, Common, Flo Milli, Fat Joe, Jeezy, Jadakiss, Fabolous and more.

New Orleans rapper Rob49, named because he grew up between NOLA’s Fourth and Ninth Wards, began rapping in 2020 and quickly gained industry attention, signing a record deal that same year. A slew of mixtapes followed and in 2021, he released his debut studio album, 4GOD, with Welcome to Vulture Island coming in 2022, and 4GODII in 2023. In 2025, he released Let Me Fly, which included features from hip hop heavyweights like Birdman, G Herbo, Cardi B, Lil Wayne and more.

“I knew ‘WTHELLY’ might be big, but I’m not gonna lie, to be a game changer is crazy,” Rob explained to The FADER, “The only thing I wanted out of ‘WTHELLY’ was to change the culture and make people start saying ‘what the helly’ – but it wind up being bigger than that forreal.”
