YOUNG MIKO

DELIVERS A FEEL-YOURSELF ANTHEM WITH BOLD BASS AND IRRESISTIBLE SWAGGER IN NEW TRACK “WASSUP”

+ Nominated for Favorite Female Latin Artist at the 2025 American Music Awards

SAN JUAN, PR (April 24, 2025) – GRAMMY®-nominated international star Young Miko marks her first solo release of the year with the bold new track, “WASSUP.” Fueled by heavy-hitting bass, crisp percussion, and unapologetic swagger, the song taps into early 2000s energy with an interpolation of Lil Wayne’s iconic “Lollipop” hook. A feel-yourself anthem through and through, the song channels fearless self-confidence with tongue-in-cheek lyricism and irresistible allure. “WASSUP” is available now on all digital streaming platforms.

Produced by longtime collaborator Mauro, “WASSUP” is a bold Latin trap track that gets straight to the point, packed with sharp bars and witty punchlines, signature to Young Miko’s style—owning the spotlight and making it clear who’s calling the shots. Adding an unexpected twist, legendary rapper and producer Lil Jon makes a cameo toward the end of the song, bringing his signature hype with a catchy chant that takes the outro to the next level, bridging two generations of artistry and sound together.

The music video, directed by Joshua Rivera and Claudia Calderón and filmed in Puerto Rico, opens with Young Miko preparing to perform “WASSUP” in an empty studio. As the camera slowly zooms in, Young Miko begins hyping herself up, like a boxer gearing up for the big fight. Throughout the video, a mix of dynamic VFX effects and subtle nods to the early 2000s hip-hop era bring the track to life. Notable scenes, like Young Miko flexing her jewelry and feeling herself in front of a BMW, her producer Mauro making a cameo as a referee blowing a whistle and calling a red card, and Young Miko getting danced on in front of massive boombox speakers, perfectly complement the song’s bold, unapologetic vibe. The video made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Flow Latino, and on the Paramount Times Square billboards.

“WASSUP” marks Young Miko’s first solo release since 2024, a year that marked a before and after in her career with the release of her debut album “att.,” which made a standout Top 10 debut on both Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums charts. In addition to its success on the Latin charts, “att.” also secured Young Miko with her first entry on the all-genre Billboard 200. Building on the album’s widespread acclaim, Young Miko received her first GRAMMY® nomination for Best Música Urbana Album with “att.” She took her “XOXO Tour” across the U.S. and Latin America, performing at major events including Coachella.

Beyond music, Young Miko continues her rise to global stardom by expanding into new realms, including acting, with her voice debut as “Tiffany” in the animated film “Sneaks.” She forms part of a comedic trio of singing Wire Shoes—voiced by Mustard, Young Miko, and Donovan Louis Bazemore—who narrate the movie, which also stars Anthony Mackie, Martin Lawrence, Chloe Bailey, and more. Next up, Young Miko is set to bring fan favorites like “offline,” “ID,” and “curita,” along with global hits like “Classy 101” ft. Feid, “FINA” ft. Bad Bunny, and “DISPO” ft. Karol G, to Spain, performing in Madrid’s Movistar Arena on May 18, Barcelona at the Sant Jordi Club on May 23, before taking the stage at renowned festivals like Governors Ball NYC and Lollapalooza later this year.
