Tell me a little bit about your new single, Hands Off! Melt ICE with White Shadow and how it came together for you.
The White Shadow and I were working on an EP, until finally I grew comfortable with the realization that my work is best produced and released one track at a time. As I did in 2017 with “Heather Heyer (Fuck Trump)” after the Unite the Right rally, in 2021 with “Why We March” during the fight for Medicare for all, and in 2020 with “TEN DEMANDS” during the George Floyd protests, I came to “Hands Off! Melt ICE!” organically — if not by necessity. Horrified and inspired by the disappearing and murdering of innocent people in the name of immigration enforcement, I wrote this song in one sitting, in less than an hour.
Do you have any more upcoming videos or singles?
There may or may not be a video for “Hands Off! Melt ICE!” You’ll have to stay tuned.
What are your current thoughts on the music industry?
I’m too disconnected from the industry to fairly comment. At this point in my career, I don’t just rap about different subjects than most of my peers, I only use music to express what I otherwise can’t — as I fight for liberation.

Do you have any shows or tour dates?
I only perform at political events and rallies. Next time I’m invited, I just might accept. “Hands Off! Melt ICE!” is designed for these moments.
