ILLUMINATI2G:I2G is here with Gaine$, how’s it going?
GAINE$: Things are going well!
ILLUMINATI2G:Tell me a little bit about your new single, Big G$, and how it came together for you.
GAINE$: Big G$ was one of those songs that came together at the peak of the project. After recording maybe 3-4 songs we knew we had a good start but the production on it called for what I’d describe big energy. I feel like it transcended many of my previous sounds and called for me to take it to the next level.
ILLUMINATI2G:What are listeners in store for with your new album Mr Gaine$?
GAINE$: I feel they’re up for a ride. I Made sure the concept of the aligned with my style and ideas drawn from the sitcom ‘a different world’ but also I feel listeners will accept this w/ a high level of respect for the quality and its message.
ILLUMINATI2G:Do you have any more upcoming videos or singles?
GAINE$: Yes, I have a video I just completed for the outro titled “Real 1”. You can expect that early June.
ILLUMINATI2G:What are your current thoughts on the music industry?
GAINE$: Currently I’m understanding it a bit more but it’s never what you think. It’s constantly changing. Honestly, I don’t pay much attention to the industry but I do study the trends, I see what’s going on, and if it’s applicable to my business I integrate those ideas and things larger artists are doing into my work.
ILLUMINATI2G:What is currently playing on your playlist musically?
GAINE$: I got a large spectrum of music but currently I’m listening Boldy James, Larry June, Leon Thomas. Too many to name because I got oldies on my list as well. Just added Rick James to my playlist but not for the hits but the songs around the hits/classics. The songs that came before he reached super stardom.
ILLUMINATI2G:Do you have any shows or tour dates?
GAINE$: I have a few shows one today actually I’ve been rockin with this band called Beü. We’ll be performing here in Buffalo.
Few dates are coming up in June and a show in August at this venue called Revolver Records. J. Electronica recently played there.
