Tell me a little bit about how you got your start in hip hop and who are some of your musical influences.
my mcing alias is golden swords am from garfield new jersey i started rhyming around 94-95 weather spitting verses with friends or in cyphers at parties or on street corners just sharpening my flow and wordplay building on my skills finding my self as a mc but didnt start recording music in till 2013 and if i told yall the way i started recording music yall would not believe me lol but all around i just love hip hop music and culture with out it i dont know where i would be in life for real my musical influences and what inspires underground hip hop had a big influence on my life stretch arm strong & bobbitto lord sear (rip) 89.9 radio show i would say the music that they played set the foundation to the mc i would become groups like non phixion natural elements cannibal ox the weathermen of course wu tang killarmy sunz of man killah priest bronze nazareth warcloud aka holocaust (rip) had a very big impact on me and a lot more
Tell me a little bit about your new single Journey For Peace.
for journey for peace i just wanted to touch on how i felt about the world my personal experiences about things i been thru how i envision life and hopefully reach a couple of peoples with a positive message that i think is well needed in todays society just wanted to create a track that maybe can make a change in some ones life and let the track take you on a journey and hopefully at the end of it you will find some type of peace and just want to say much love to joly for blessing the track with her beautiful vocals and twenny one for the beat and one more thing i just want to say in the track second verse i talk about a good friend of mine who passed away when i was very young just want to say rip to seno i miss and i will never for get you always in my heart i dedicate this song to you peace and blessings rest in peace
Do you have any albums, mixtapes or EPs in the works?
yes am always working on something i will be dropping limited to seven 10″ lathe cut picture disc records for the track i did a while back call the 7th dagger ft frukwan from gravediggaz side a and side b are all bonus tracks and also i will be releasing my new double ep on 2 cassette tapes one i will be going by my alias for this project HEAVENLY KING entitled THE LIANGSHAN HEROES its a concept album i dont want to lose any one on this but the best way to put it they where like ancient revolutionaries in chinese history who fought for what they believe in if you want to know more check out the movie from shaw brothers all men are brother am building off that on the songs and the second ep is GOLDEN SWORDS entitled RUGGED MIND SET thats me rhyming weather lyrical or about life and journey for peace will be on the second cassettes
Do you have any more upcoming videos or singles?
always got new music dropping and yes i have a video in the works for the track disciples of the emperor ft ill conscious and tokyo cigar should be dropping in the future sooner then later
What are your current thoughts on the music industry?
the industry is just corrupted and these so called big top tier mcs lol you hear on the radio and mtv bet what ever they where all manufactured by what ever record labels they on telling the same fake stories on how much coke they sell and all the crimes they done just to sell records get fame and money thinking they own things when they dont even own there own soul your a puppet and the strings are green paper being controlled by the industry you been sold a fake dream and you cant even realize your living in a fantasy world i can go on for days about this but man the industry just need to be destroyed and rebuilt and controlled by people who really love the music
What is currently playing on your playlist musically?
i dont really listen to any new music weather any genre weather it be hip hop r&b reggae etc…..i rock a lot of mid to late 90s hip hop listen to some r&b and reggae you know if its real music and done from the heart and is good music i will rock with it but i listen to a lot of underground like i said of course the wu killarmy sunz of man the beggas (rip father lord aka wu chi) and that wu tang forever album one of my all time fav album that ones a master piece lyrically beyond its time classic double lp i have not bought a cd in a while just got the az doe or die cd in feeling it the track we made it where his almost crying on the track is crazy you dont see that or hear that too often
