The moment hip-hop fans were eagerly anticipating finally arrived, as two of hip-hop’s most revered architects—DJ Premier and Roc Marciano—joined forces to give the people what they want with their collaborative project, The Coldest Profession, which is now available.
A true icon, DJ Premier (who also just announced the “He’s The Preemo I’m The Chemist” European Tour This Winter With The Alchemist) is one of the most influential and genre-pushing producers of all time. Roc Marciano, often credited with laying the foundation for the modern underground renaissance, is one of the most influential multi-hyphenates (rapper/producer) artists of the last decade.
Preem and Marci released the first video from The Coldest Profession with “Armani Section.” The “Armani Section” video is high end luxury music, and an amalgamation of how their collaborative union ended up coming to pass.
Now, Preem and Marci return with the project’s second visual, “Glory Hole,” which can be viewed below.
Since both artists have helped shape the sounds of their respective generations, The Coldest Profession is a completely self-contained body of work. Marci uses every second of his slick, soulful wordplay, minimalist inflections and razor-sharp wit to flex over Premier’s timeless production.
