NickiMinaj and Trump’s ongoing alliance has taken on a new dimension, with the rapper now directly encouraging her fans to get involved in the upcoming midterm elections. In a new clip released by Fox News on September 25th, Minaj urges young voters to make their voices heard and “vote red” ahead of the midterms, marking her most direct political call-to-action yet.
In the short clip, Minaj speaks directly to camera, stressing the importance of young people getting involved “right now” and encouraging them not to sit out the process. She frames it as a moment where young voters specifically need to step up “more than ever before,” closing with a clear directive to “vote red.”
This latest moment fits into a much larger pattern that’s developed over the past several months. As BOSSIP previously reported, Minaj made her alignment with Trump unmistakably clear during a recent appearance on “The Ingraham Angle,” where she was asked directly what she says to critics of her relationship with the administration. Her answer was blunt: “Absolutely nothing.” She went on to call Trump “smart, fun, grounded, and easy to connect with,” adding, “I just love him!”
That same appearance came on the heels of Minaj being tapped to judge the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition, a Shark Tank-style event backed by the Trump administration that distributed $1 million among five entrepreneurs. Minaj celebrated the opportunity publicly at the time, calling it a “major, MAJOR KEY” moment. Trump has reciprocated the public affection as well, previously calling Minaj “so respected and so hot and so great” during a White House Rose Garden lunch and referring to her as a “great friend.”
Many of her fans aren’t feeling it or announced that they’re cutting ties over her new political punditry.
