| The first official single and video from the Blu Tang Forever is “Watts Prophet.” Heavily inspired by The Watts Prophets’ Amde Hamilton, it frames the blocks of L.A. through the lens of ancient history and street sermons. The beat has a dark sinister feeling that is common throughout the project. “One of most recent offerings from the extended Killah Priest family, this is an album you don’t want to skip” – Rap Seminar |
| Most of the production is handled by DeKay Slaps who has also worked with Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Rugged Monk, a key member of the group Black Knights (Westcoast Killa Beez). Included are beats by The Beat Kollectorz known for their work with artists like Black Knights, Ras Kass and Wu-Syndicate. |
| What’s more impressive is Crip Jesus’ features. He inspires his homies to swing their lyrical swords in true Wu-Tang fashion, while still keeping it gangster. The esoteric Crip slang used by the rappers is reminiscent of the 5-percenter lingo used in old Wu albums. If you’re a fan of Gangsta Rap, Conscious Rap or Lyrical Rap this album covers all three. | |
